About Us

Founded in 2012, our Faculty has nine Department and twenty-six programs. Starting its educational activity in 2013-2014 academic year, ourfaculty accepts students for Departments of Horiculture, Field Crops and Plant Protection. Department of Plant Protection started accepting student on 2015-2016, and Departments of Animal Sciences and Biosystem Engineering started accepting students on 2016 2017 academic year.

Agricultural faculties are quite important in terms of agricultural development of our country and they play an important role in the development of the country's economy and rural development by carrying out necessary scientific researches in order to maximize the efficiency obtained from agricultural areas.The Siirt University Faculty of Agriculture started its activities with strong academic personnel in order to carry out researches and studies in this direction at the highest level.

Peanut and pomegranate farming, viniculture, honey production, and angora production, which is used as raw materials in the construction of handicrafts, are among the important agricultural activities of Siirt province and are essential for regional economy. Scientific researches and breeding studies on these crops are planned to maximize crop yield in the region.In this sense, it is aimed to encourage the people of the region to inform and make conscious production and to improve the regional economy.
